How Much Will It Cost
![]() |
We prefer to offer a full commercial pre coded spec as used in our own passenger operations. Such vessels range in the £55 to £70k zone for standard beam RHIBS and 60 to 75k for wide beam RHIBS. However it is quite possible to complete a coded 8.5m vessel for 12 pax well under £50k. For a 6m safety vessel for standby then a commercial package can be in the order of £15 to £25k. |
And What About the Returns
We know the passenger business very well and will advise that gross returns will be a min of £100 per hour, should average at £140 per hour and perhaps peaking at £170 per hour. We can advise on market projections, seasonal variations etc but at the end of the day it is up to you to assess the final opportunity and make it work.
And running costs
![]() |
Again we know these inside out. Everything from maintenance per hour costs to contingencies and they are all laid out on spreadsheets for break even analysis. Matters such as VAT, self employed contracts for crews, fuel duty claims etc are all provided. As a taster, the general rule is that you will need to undertake 200 sailings of 1 hour a year to break into profit. If you think you can achieve this, your project warrants further scrutiny |
The cost of all this info
If buying a Quinquari RHIB then, of course, iinformation is free as part of our services. However, we have had a few unscrupulous souls plagiarise all our well earned knowledge so we will reserve the right to charge for consultancy advice against those who do not adopt old fashioned business values !!!. Be warned though - it is a small industry and when you start operating you need all your friends!!
