Our ethos and structure

To be driven by pride in what we produce and in how we deliver it.

Quinquari is a small family company specialising in the bespoke design and fit-out of commercial RHIBs.

Based in Pembrokeshire, West Wales we have a small but efficient manufacturing unit, a boat yard and an administration office.

The Pembrokeshire coastline is very exposed and has some of the strongest tidal currents in Europe, making it an excellent location for testing and evaluating vessels.

From our own fleet we always have some 10m and smaller models available as demonstrators, and we can also arrange demonstrations in the UK and overseas with the help of clients who have purchased our vessels.

We have a very strong presence in the UK and overseas markets with UK bases in Hull, Oban and West Wales, whilst overseas exports account for almost 80% of our business – we pride ourselves on not only providing first class vessels at sensible prices but in also offering top quality customer back up and support.

We also own a sister company which operates the largest passenger RHIB charter businesses in the UK, as well as a company dedicated to the charter of support vessels for the commercial offshore sector.

Turnkey solutions

Quinquari produces at most 20 vessels a year, the number being defined by the complexity of each build, and we have no desire for expansion. In most cases we aim to provide a turnkey solution, taking a holistic view of the clients’ requirements and advising on everything from financial aspects to HR implications.

Our vessels range from 4m to 11m large cabin RHIBs, and have been exported all over the world. We have also supported those vessels on the ground and provided our own staff to provide training on site.

In most cases though we get to know our clients and often they become friends – we like to think of it as the ‘Quinquari Family’. Client involvement in the build can be to whatever level they wish.

We follow through from the build to support you and the vessel. For parts and accessories we keep stock of most items including some engines, so we can often get a part to you straight away.

We also get special offers on engines and consumables and will contact clients with these, passing on most of our discount.

Quinquari’s client list includes major oil companies, offshore installations and support, high profile celebrities, public sector, training, security and transport, private recreational and tourism and seafari businesses.

The company is innovative and takes on R&D in its own small way. For example, we have recently made a significant investment into developing an alternative and retrofit shock system, which has been evaluated and adopted by a major SAR organisation. Many of our designs and concepts have been copied by others, which we take as a compliment.

Our roots

Quinquari Marine was established in 1987 by John Price. John spent time at sea on commercial vessels from a very early age, going on to qualify as a fisheries scientist and also majoring in naval architecture and engineering. He worked in the Middle East for the public and private sector and in the UK as a fisheries scientist. On a practical level he skippered fishing vessels from small inshore to large stern trawlers and in 1991 developed an interest in commercial RHIBs.

The company is now run by John’s son Rhys, for which it is a passion.

The Price family also have other business interests locally and at peak times employ up to 40 people making them one of the major local employers.

We take pride from the fact that we have developed from humble beginnings into a financially secure business with no reliance upon outside funding or support.  We are also grateful for our key employees who have all been with us for a long time.

Humber inflatables

Quinquari Marine has a unique relationship with Humber Inflatables, dating back to 1991. Neither company has any financial interest in the others’ business, but we do work as “one business”.

We will only fit-out Humber RHIBs and Humber will only recommend and engage us for the bespoke and high end fit-out of commercial RHIBs. There is a daily flow of communication between the companies so as to ensure good sales, optimum allocation of resources, effective R&D, top quality contract performance and efficient delivery and after sales.

We share success and we share problems.
